In this page, information about the assumptions and omissions in the methodology considered during the gathering, processing, analyzing, and visualizing of data is provided.

Exclusions

Data shown in dashboards excludes contributors and commits that fall below a minimum average number of commits per month across all repositories over the entire time period. The default threshold is set to 3 commits per month, but this can be customized in the Settings >> Organization section. Our tool will display how many commits and contributors were excluded on the Dashboard pages.

This exclusion is designed to filter out non-software engineering (non-SWE) contributors, such as QA testers, whose contributions to the codebase may be minimal.

The goal of excluding this data is to avoid distorting key metrics and ensure decisions are based on accurate, representative data.

Contributor Absence

Long vacations, maternity/paternity leaves, or extended sick leaves are omitted from productivity calculations to avoid data manipulation. Adjustments for these absences are expected to be made by managers within the organization as necessary.

Team Performance

In the Team View, if a contributor is part of multiple teams, their performance is counted in each team to reflect their contributions accurately.

Missing Data

When data for a specific time period (days, weeks, months, etc.) is missing, it is treated as zero (0) in calculations to maintain consistency.
